The Drowsy Chaperone

Haileybury's Senior School students proudly presented their 2017 Musical, The Drowsy Chaperone.

This modern musical captured the best of 1920s and 1930s musicals with The Man in The Chair guiding us through the show, bringing a modern sensibility to the storyline.

Director, Stewart Bell said “It is a rare thing as a teacher to have the perfect group of performers for a production but I have been privileged with the cast of The Drowsy Chaperone.”

Stewart noted how professional directors often struggle with smaller roles, but with his Haileybury cast, he has every part covered with the bonus of an outstanding chorus on top of the wonderful leads.

“Such was the abundance of talent I have cast two performers for the one role on three occasions.

Our band has been challenged but its members have more than risen to the call and our first rehearsal with them was exciting for all concerned. The brass section is spectacular.”

Captivated audience loved the hilarious evening as the Senior School students brought to life a classic 1920s tale.

Well done to all the cast and crew involved with this memorable Haileybury production.
