Honours Assembly Welcomes the Class of 2021

Tuesday, 15 February saw a large number of our graduates return to the School for the annual Honours Assembly to celebrate the academic achievements of the Class of 2021.

Haileybury’s VCE successes are so exceptional that Aikman Hall can no longer fit both Haileybury College and Haileybury Girls College students at the same time!

So at each assembly, students from Years 10, 11 and 12 were presented with awards for exemplary achievement in individual subjects. We then announced the names of those graduates who had been placed on the Scholars and Honours Board.

The assemblies concluded with the School applauding the achievements of the Duces of Haileybury College: Harry Sun, Daniel Greenham, James Lam, Duvin Nambuwasam, Raymond Zhang, Jeremy Nielsen and Samarth Raghavendra and our Dux of Haileybury Girls College, Lisa Gorman. They all achieved an ATAR of 99.95—a reflection of their hard work and effort.

Senior School Meet and Greet – Keysborough

Over 150 families from Years 9–12 attended the Keysborough Meet and Greet Night on Wednesday, 23 February. This was a great way for parents to get together after a year of COVID-19 restrictions—and they certainly enjoyed doing so!

It was also an opportunity for them to meet our Head of Senior Girls, Helen Wadden, Head of Senior Boys, Graham Leys, the two Heads of Pre-Senior and relevant Heads of House. The function was held in Senior School Quad which has a beautiful outlook and a wonderful evening was had by all.

RCD Senior School Fundraiser

On Thursday, the Haileybury Boat Club took part in the 2022 Connor’s Erg Challenge. All Years 10–12 rowers completed 100 km on a rowing machine in the shortest amount of time possible.

The quad party, run in tandem with the Erg Challenge, was a huge success and with generous donations from our community, we raised just over $3,000 for the Robert Connor Dawes Foundation. It will go towards funding for brain tumour research, care and treatment.

It was a great turnout and a big thank you to all the rowers and school student leaders who helped make the day a success.
