Catherine McNamara

Ms Catherine McNamara has been part of the Haileybury City community since 2018 and was appointed Head of City Campus in 2026. Prior to this, she was Senior Deputy Head of Campus and Head of Girls Middle School, contributing to teaching, pastoral care and school leadership.

In her role, Ms McNamara brings strategic leadership grounded in a conviction that excellence and care are mutually sustaining. She believes strong school cultures are built on genuine relationships, belief in every student, and a shared commitment to their success and wellbeing.

Having led the City Co-curricular program, Ms McNamara has seen firsthand how opportunities for exploration ignite lasting passions, and she has witnessed the transformative power of education and how schools play a vital role in cultivating curiosity in every student.

Throughout her career, Ms McNamara has been an advocate for ongoing professional development and for educators expanding their minds to engage in best practice. She recently completed a Master of Education (Leadership & Management).

A lifelong lover of literature, Ms McNamara believes words are among the most powerful tools we can give a young person, allowing them to think critically, reflect deeply, communicate with clarity, open doors and change lives.
