As we welcome, with much excitement, the beginning of a new school year, we also celebrate the class of 2025 Haileybury students whose excellence in the VCE exams has seen them being offered a most exciting range of post school study and work pathways.
In 2025 Haileybury students’ results once again saw 50% of the more than 520 graduating students obtaining an Australian Tertiary Admission Ranking of 90 or above (placing them in the top 10% in the country) and 94% obtaining a ranking placing them in the top 40% in Australia. These achievements, built on a strong literacy and numeracy foundation and a depth of critical, analytical and creative thinking, saw Haileybury ranked in the very top performance tier of all schools’ results, leading to great opportunities for Haileybury graduates.
The result of the exceptional academic performance has been an outstanding range of post-school pathway offers for the class of 2025. The second round of tertiary offers for the year for Victoria have just been sent out by the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre. A significant number of Haileybury students are also applying for leading universities in the UK, Europe and America. Their offers will come through later.
The highlights for Haileybury students are:
- 100% of students who applied getting an offer
- 54% of the 500+ student offers were first preference
- 14 students gaining direct entry into Monash University medicine
- A significant number of other students will go through biomedicine at The University of Melbourne into post graduate medicine
- Two students from Haileybury Pangea gained an offer of medicine at Monash University.
Just over 70% of graduates chose either The University of Melbourne or Monash University. Around 80% of Haileybury students will achieve offers to world top 100 universities.
There are so many individual stories that will emerge from the collective range of offers. I congratulate all students and the exceptional staff on what has been achieved.
This year at Haileybury promises an exciting and enriching array of co-curricular opportunities designed to inspire creativity, teamwork and personal growth. One of the highlights is the chance for our young artists to enter the Haileybury Young Archie Competition, Australia’s premier portraiture competition for emerging artists. Students are encouraged to capture someone meaningful through portraiture, with finalists exhibited at Haileybury and winners progressing to the official Young Archie platform — a remarkable opportunity to gain national recognition.
The Sport season kicks off with great enthusiasm, and we look forward to our 3,700 students representing Haileybury with pride, resilience, and a sense of fun and friendship across a wide range of team and individual competitions.
In the performing and visual arts, preparations are well underway for an inspiring year. Students and staff are already hard at work on this year’s Senior School musical, West Side Story, promising a spectacular showcase of talent and collaboration.
We also eagerly anticipate celebrating our vibrant community at the upcoming Haileybury Ball on Saturday, 23 May — a night of connection, celebration and school pride.
