Haileybury students have started Term 3 with a packed co-curricular program building on top of some outstanding academic performances in NAPLAN and the VCE.
Parents will have received individual student’s NAPLAN results in the first two weeks of term. Collectively the results that students achieved in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 were the best since the NAPLAN scale was reset and the testing went fully online. These results will see Haileybury students ranked in the top three or four primary schools in Australia and the very top open entry secondary schools in Australia when the NAPLAN data is released on the MySchool website.
In an age in which we are analyzing the impact of AI on education and work, a sound set of foundation skills remains fundamental to the core skill set a young person needs. Haileybury is strongly focused on this, so that as students move through their education, they have the foundational skills, coupled with a knowledge rich curriculum, to develop critical thinking skills and analytical skills essential in the AI age.
As the NAPLAN data was being released, 26 Haileybury VCE students from last year were receiving 28 VCE Premier’s Awards.
The very top award is the VCE All Round High Achiever which goes to students who achieved a study score of 46 or higher in 5 or more subjects. There were only 23 of these awarded in total and five went to Haileybury students, four from Haileybury Melbourne and one from Haileybury Rendall School, Darwin.
