Year One students enjoy initiation ceremony

In accordance with a cherished Chinese tradition, our Junior School celebrated the initiation of our Year One students 26 days into their first school year. This heart-warming event was carefully orchestrated by the Chinese department, dedicated Grade One teachers and our calligraphy staff.

The aim of the ceremony is to instil in children a sense of purpose and excitement for learning and enlightenment. It is a pivotal moment in their educational journey and paves the way for a lifetime of discovery and growth. The students captivated the audience with a mesmerising traditional dance. As a testament to their commitment to their education, they also recited an oath, pledging dedication to the pursuit of knowledge and wisdom.

Senior School Parent-Teacher Interviews

Haileybury values the relationships that we build with parents and Senior School recently held Parent-Teacher Interviews. These interviews are extremely important to ensure parents are kept up to date with how their children are performing and how they can improve.

The interviews gave parents an opportunity to review the first six weeks of school. For Year 12 students completing Victorian Academic Timetable subjects, it was an opportunity to review what their child needs to work on to prepare for the November examinations.

Making a splash

Our School’s Swimming team made a splash at the 2023 Beijing WOW Age Group LC Swimming Series Competition. Comprising Primary, Middle and Senior School swimmers, our team of eight students certainly showcased their prowess in the pool.

Among the standout performances was Angel, a Year 10 student from our Senior School, who earned a coveted spot in the final. Her dedication and skill were truly commendable.

The atmosphere throughout the competition was electric and it was a memorable experience for all involved. Our students demonstrated their commitment to the sport, getting up early and travelling far to compete against other international schools.

Congratulations to the team on their outstanding performance and we wish them luck for upcoming events.
