Celebrating music at HRS
What a wonderful term of music at Haileybury Rendall School. Across the past few months, our students have had countless opportunities to share their talent, build confidence and celebrate their love of music with our community.
HRS is proud to offer an extensive instrumental music program, with 210 students currently involved in instrumental lessons across a wide range of instruments. This term, we have seen this talent shine through at a number of superb events.
Earlier in the term, our annual Twilight Concert provided a wonderful evening of music, featuring performances from our string ensembles, bands and choirs. It was an incredible showcase of talent and a fantastic opportunity for our school community to come together.
Our instrumental students also took centre stage during our HRS Music Recitals. Across two evenings, we enjoyed performances from our woodwind, brass, guitar, drums and strings students, highlighting the impressive range of musical talent across the School.
Our instrumental students have also been enjoying our lunchtime Cushion Concerts in the Library. These relaxed performances give our younger musicians a wonderful opportunity to develop confidence and experience performing in front of an audience.
Our VCE Music students also held their recital this term as they prepare for their upcoming performance examinations. Each student prepared a 20-minute performance on their chosen instrument, providing a truly phenomenal display of musicianship, dedication and talent.
We are incredibly proud of all our musicians and the commitment they continue to show. Led by our Head of Music, Mrs Ilona Martin, our dedicated and passionate music staff work tirelessly to provide these wonderful opportunities for our students. Mrs Martin even put her musical expertise to the test by delivering an exceptional music round at our recent HRS Quiz Night. We thank our music team for their incredible contribution to the vibrant musical life of our School.
