Aged care visit
Our Middle School Community Action Captains, together with our Years 5 and 6 student leaders, recently visited a local aged care home, where they participated in a range of engaging activities alongside the residents. These included trivia games, craft activities and movement-based games. The visit provided invaluable opportunities for students to build connections with older members of the community, develop empathy and strengthen their communication skills. Students were able to see first hand the impact of these interactions and the value of connecting with older generations. We were incredibly proud of how our students represented Edrington so respectfully, kindly and confidently, and of the positive difference they made to the lives of the residents.
Early Learning Centre
Celebrating Father's Day in our ELC
Father’s Day in the Early Learning Centre is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the special men and father figures who play an important role in our children’s lives. These events are much more than a celebration; they create meaningful opportunities for children, families and educators to connect, share experiences and build a strong sense of belonging within our ELC community.
This year, our Father’s Day event was filled with laughter, creativity and plenty of hands-on fun. Children and their fathers or father figures enjoyed a variety of interactive activities together, including making paper cup towers, creating personalised keychains, launching balloon rockets, constructing spinning tops and painting colourful canvas artworks, just to name a few.
These experiences encouraged exploration, creativity, experimentation and problem solving. The joy on the children’s faces as they proudly shared their creations and participated in activities together highlighted the importance of these shared moments.
Events like Father’s Day help children feel valued and supported while strengthening relationships between home and the ELC. Most importantly, they create special memories that children can cherish. We are grateful to all the fathers and father figures who joined us and helped make the day so meaningful, joyful and memorable for our children.
Junior School
Lunchtime clubs
We are always looking for ways to pique a child’s interest or use current interests to provide them with an opportunity to be involved at school, as well as give our Year 4 students a chance to show leadership. Each year our Year 4s are encouraged as leaders to take part in running a club at lunchtime. Throughout the year we have has some fabulous lunchtime activities.
Term 1: Chess, footy, drawing clubs
Term 2: Crochet and basketball clubs
Term 3: Dance and cricket clubs - Tuesday lunch
Puzzle Club: Thursday lunch with Mrs McGill and Mrs Rawlings
Middle School
It has been another wonderful and incredibly busy month across Middle School, filled with opportunities to celebrate, connect and recognise the many achievements of our students.
We enjoyed a fabulous Book Week, with students and staff embracing the joy of reading and bringing books to life through a range of activities. It was fantastic to see the enthusiasm, creativity and excitement throughout the campus as we celebrated the power of stories and the important role books play in inspiring young minds.
Our Father’s Day Afternoon was another wonderful highlight. It was terrific to welcome so many fathers and special guests to the campus for an afternoon of food, fun and activities. The smiles, conversations and friendly competition made for a memorable afternoon and provided a wonderful opportunity for our students to share their school experience with those who are so important to them.
We also held two fantastic assemblies, providing an opportunity to recognise and celebrate student achievement. We acknowledged excellence across both sport and academics, highlighting the commitment, perseverance and talents our students demonstrate both inside and outside the classroom.
It has certainly been a month that reflects the strength of our Middle School community and one that celebrates achievement, relationships, participation and, most importantly, our students.

Hello Edrington. Once again, our amazing community came together to hold our annual Father’s Day stall. We hope all the dads and carers had an amazing Father’s Day and loved the gifts the children very carefully chose for you all. They take their gift choosing responsibilities very seriously. Thank you to all our amazing volunteers who helped set up and run the stall. We make a great team.

Every Wednesday you will find Jenelle and Amphil at the SHUS from 8.30 am to 11.00 am. The SHUS is always looking for an extra hand, so if you have an hour to spare on a Wednesday to give Amphil and Jenelle a hand in the shop please contact them shus-berwick@haileybury.vic.edu.au
