Curious Minds Week
Curious Minds Week at Haileybury Pangea provided students with a rich and engaging program designed to spark curiosity, creativity and real-world thinking. Across the week, students participated in a structured series of activities spanning tutorial challenges, creative design and expert-led sessions, all centred on the theme of innovation and exploration.
Students began the week with a collaborative Code Breaking Cypher activity, before moving into hands-on design work, planning and creating water lanterns. This culminated in a final submission, with students presenting their designs for judging across multiple categories.
A highlight of the week was the after-school session with Dr Tim Doran, a Haileybury alumnus and scientist with a background in microbiology and disease research at CSIRO. Tim shared his journey into biotechnology and his work leading innovations such as allergy-safe eggs, providing students with valuable perspectives on science careers and real-world applications of research.
We thank Keren Mooney and Mia Haravitsidis for organising such a brilliant week of activities.
Intercampus Debating
Haileybury Pangea students achieved exceptional success at the recent Intercampus Debating event, delivering an outstanding performance across all rounds of the competition.
Both Pangea teams were victorious in their respective debates, winning Round 1 and Round 2, with Fred and Felix each awarded Best Speaker for their teams. This recognition reflects the strength of preparation, clarity of argument and confidence demonstrated by students throughout the evening.

Felix and Ned’s team achieved the highest combined score across the rounds, securing a place in the prestigious Showcase round. Competing in front of a wider audience of students and parents, they rose to the occasion, with Felix again recognised as Best Speaker in the Showcase.
We congratulate all participating students on their success, and we thank Chris McCullough, Jordyn Exner and Mia Haravitsidis for their support of Pangea’s debating students.
