Community highlights
In June, as winter chilled Melbourne and brightened the skies in Darwin, we shared many opportunities for Haileybury Pangea students to connect, celebrate and engage with the wider School community through a range of memorable on-campus experiences.
Our Units 3 and 4 students recently came together at Haileybury Keysborough for the General Achievement Test, an important milestone in the VCE journey. The day provided students with the opportunity to complete this significant assessment alongside their peers, before joining staff and families for an afternoon tea that celebrated their hard work and commitment throughout the semester.
The following evening, our Year 12 students gathered for the annual Year 12 Formal at Teller Restaurant in Brunswick East. The event provided a wonderful opportunity for students to step away from their studies, celebrate their achievements, strengthen friendships and create lasting memories together as they approach the final months of their School journey.
Meanwhile, our Year 8 students travelled to Haileybury’s Newlands campus for the much-anticipated Medieval Day. Immersed in the sights, sounds and traditions of the medieval world, students participated in a range of engaging hands-on activities including archery, tournaments, armour displays and historical role-play. The event brought classroom learning to life while providing valuable opportunities for students to connect in person with their peers.
Student leadership was also on display during RSPCA Week, which was proudly led by our Student Representatives. Through awareness-raising activities and fundraising initiatives, students encouraged the School community to support the important work of the RSPCA while promoting compassion and responsible care for animals. The week was a wonderful example of student voice in action and highlighted the positive impact our young leaders can have when working together for a cause they care about.
These events reflect the vibrant and connected nature of the Haileybury Pangea community, providing meaningful opportunities for students to build friendships, develop leadership skills and create shared experiences beyond the virtual classroom.
Term 3 events
Term 3 has a notably academic focus, particularly for our VCE students as they prepare for final examinations in Term 4. Key dates for families include:

- Friday, 14 August – Student-Free Day (no classes)
- Wednesday, 2 – Friday 4 September – Years 5–8 Pathways Days (no regular timetable)
- Monday, 7 – Friday 11 September – VCE Trial Exams Online (Units 3 and 4; no regular timetable)
- Monday, 7 – Friday 18 September – Year 9 Pathways Weeks (no regular timetable)
- Friday, 18 September – Term 3 concludes
