Response Plan - Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Tuesday, 24 March

As you are aware, Haileybury has been closely monitoring the rapidly evolving global COVID-19 outbreak. Haileybury’s COVID-19 Response Committee meets daily to assess all information provided by the Federal and State Governments for the benefit of our community. We continue to work closely with both the State and Federal Education Ministers and consider the health advice of the Chief Medical Officer. That advice takes into account individual risk and the needs of the community. We are very aware that this is a unique and challenging situation for the whole community.

Continuity of Education (Prep – Year 12)

Haileybury’s online Teaching & Learning Program in virtual classes will continue this week as planned. Students will commence their term holiday at the end of school on Friday, 27 March.

Parents and students are reminded of the Government’s request of social distancing. Students should attend their lessons in their own homes.

ELC & Long Day Care

Haileybury has decided to operate all Early Learning Centres next week from Monday, 23 to Friday, 27 March 2020.

A decision regarding continuing the ELC and Long Day Care Programs will be made in consultation with Government advice and will be communicated to those families later today (Tuesday, 24 March 2020).

Support of Healthcare & Allied Industries

To help our parents engaged in the delivery of Healthcare and Allied Industries, Haileybury is offering for their children who are enrolled in our Early Learning Centres, Junior and Middle Schools, and Pre-Senior program to attend their usual Haileybury campus. They will be supervised by qualified staff whilst they participate in the teaching and learning activities conducted by their teachers on Zoom, who will all be adhering to the social distancing and hygiene practices currently in place.

A decision regarding continuing the provision of supervision of children of those in healthcare and allied industries will be made in consultation with the Government and will be communicated to those families later today (Tuesday, 24 March 2020).

Thank you to our Community

Haileybury would like to take this opportunity to thank our community. Your adaptability, flexibility and positivity during these unprecedented times has been exemplary. Throughout this difficult period, we’ve witnessed the Haileybury community pull together to overcome challenges and we could not be prouder of the teamwork and support of our community.
