F1 Racing at Newlands
Earlier this year, Haileybury qualified for the F1 in Schools STEM Challenge World Finals.
F1 in Schools is the world’s largest student competition for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Each year more than 17,000 schools from 44 countries take on the challenge of developing the fastest miniature F1 car.
In Australia 22,000 students are involved in the competition each year and in 2018 Haileybury joined the competition.
With the team heading to the finals in Singapore next month, Haileybury Newlands hosted a fundraising event for the combined Haileybury/MLC Entente Racing Team.
Students across the school were invited to see the awesome display of Maclaren, Ferrari and Red Bull F1 racing cars as well as participate in demonstration races of the F1 in School racing system.
Representatives from the Swinburne University racing team and Monash University Racing were also in attendance to share with the students the STEM opportunities that await them beyond school.
The Entente Racing team and Haileybury would like to thank Zagame Automotive, Swinburne University and the Australian Grand Prix Corporation for facilitating this event and kind support.
We wish the Haileybury F1 racing team all the best for their competition in Singapore!
