Dr Dwyer was appointed Vice Principal and Head of Senior School in 1997 and Vice Principal (Corporate) in 2004. Before entering the teaching profession, Dr Dwyer was an analyst with the Banque Nationale de Paris. He has taught at Canberra Grammar School, where he was Head of Commerce and Director of Rowing, Marlborough College (UK), and Caulfield Grammar where he was Senior Housemaster and Head of Boarding. Dr Dwyer was awarded the 1985 Menzies Fellowship for an evaluation of the A Level Business Management course for Australian conditions (Cambridge U.K.). His doctorate is in the field of organizational learning and international education. As Vice-Principal (International) since 2013, Dr Dwyer is responsible for management of Haileybury’s corporate and international activities. In 2002, Dr Dwyer pioneered the introduction of the international VCE, first into China and then, as a pro bono project by Haileybury, in East Timor. In 2013, he established the Haileybury International School in Beijing, the first full campus of a foreign school in China.
