Foundation Scholarships

Changing lives forever

Since its inception, Haileybury Foundation has nurtured a number of deserving young scholarship beneficiaries who have gone on to achieve great things from studying at prestigious universities, starting or building businesses and contributing and giving back to their community.

2025 Foundation Scholarships

The Haileybury Foundation is now accepting applications for scholarships for entry in 2025. Haileybury Foundation scholarships are means assessed and are open to students in Year 7, 8, 9 or 10 who would not normally be in a position to be able to afford a Haileybury education.

Applications are considered on a case-by-case basis and we welcome applications from Victorian based students.

Please read the terms and conditions for this scholarship before commencing your application and ensure that all required information is provided.

Applications open: 12.00 pm, Monday 27 November 2023

Applications close: 5.00 pm, Friday 15 March 2024 (applications are now closed for 2024)

Current Haileybury Foundation Scholarship Student

Faith Mapolo Kauseni

Faith is the recipient of Haileybury Foundation’s first-ever Workplace Giving Scholarship, generously contributed to by the Haileybury staff. Faith joined Haileybury’s City campus all the way from Zambia. She is thriving and loving all that Haileybury has to offer.

Ryan Zhang

Ryan commenced at Haileybury City in year 7 and is a wonderful contributor to our School. Names as Haileybury City Boys Middle School Captain when in year 8, Ryan contributes strongly to the extra curricular program where is a wonderful musician, actor and swimmer. Ryan is the beneficiary of the Gary Bailey Memorial Scholarship.


Meet some of our past Haileybury Foundation Scholarship students

Ian W Cox Scholarship

The Ian Cox Scholarship is a bequest from an old Haileyburian, Ian Cox (OH 1947). Charlie Gillott (OH 2022) was the benefactor of this scholarship and has gone on to pursue his passion.

William Buckland Foundation Scholarship

Zack Charles (OH 2022) was a valued member of the Berwick cohort and graduated from Haileybury at the end of 2022. Zack was the beneficiary of a William Buckland Foundation Indigenous Student Scholarship.


Rob Fildes (OH '58) Scholarship

Kayla Salmons (OH 2020) was a member of the Haileybury Girls Basketball team and on graduating in 2020, Kayla accepted a scholarship to attend Idaho State University in the US, playing Basketball and studying Psychology.

This is something Kayla has worked hard for and believes would not have been possible without the incredible generosity of her benefactor, Mr Rob Fildes AM (OH '58).


Haileybury Foundation Scholarship

Haftu Strintzos (OH 2018): Haftu graduated from Haileybury and travelled to the US to take up a sports scholarship at Villanova University, Pennsylvania. Haftu is studying Engineering at Villanova.

As an elite student-athlete, Haftu is a valued member of the Villanova track and field team, participating at major inter-uni events across the US.

Savaluscu/Aikman Scholarship

Jodi Finegan (OH 2016): Jodi has recently graduated with a Masters of Teaching from Melbourne University. Jodi has secured a position at Hampton Primary School teaching Year 3. In the final year of her Masters, Jodi was working at Haileybury Brighton as part of the Individual Needs Team as a Tutor Support Officer which she saw as a “lovely way to reconnect with my old teachers and the school.” Jodi is very much looking forward to pursuing her career in education.


Savaluscu/Aikman Scholarship

Ujjwal Chaudhry (OH 2015): Ujjwal studied at the University of Melbourne, graduating in 2019. He has undertaken internships at Siemens and Ernst & Young.

He has been working on a social justice podcast program centering on mental health with two university associates that will soon launch.

“Haileybury prepared me for my journey in University, particularly through the values of having a global outlook and the importance of social justice. Beyond university, I’m passionate about mental health and creating positive impact which stems right back to Haileybury, where we were taught the importance of mental wellbeing and creating a community of care.”

Haileybury Foundation Scholarship

Rija Khanal (OH 2008): Rija studied medicine and is a paediatric trainee at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne. Alongside the global paediatric community, Rija applied her knowledge and support to address the COVID-19 crisis in our community.
