CEO | Principal's Report

Term 3 has finished with a wonderful set of music, drama, arts, House and sports events across all campuses and with over 500 Year 9 students completing another set of experiential learning development through the Expeditions and Options program.

The great range of experiences available to Haileybury students only happens because of the commitment of Haileybury’s dedicated staff to the co-curricular program. My appreciation goes to all of the staff who remain so committed to delivering broad holistic outcomes for all students.

Of course, as always at Haileybury, there has also been a primary commitment to the academic development of our students. I am very pleased with the approach of the 2024 Year 12 cohort. When they come back at the start of Term 4 there will be less than three short weeks to their graduation.

The School will provide a range of wonderful events for the graduating class to enjoy the end of their school journey. Again, the success for this relies on the commitment of Haileybury staff and their willingness to ensure that the students enjoy their final days at Haileybury.

They will then join the very broad and wide ranging Old Haileyburians Community. I was pleased to recently attend an Old Haileyburian gathering in London at which over 30 Old Haileyburians joined from across the UK and Europe. It was pleasing to chat with former students who were studying at top UK universities, including Oxford, and at universities in Europe. Dutch universities are particularly strong in providing English language courses for foreign students and I was delighted that two Old Haileyburians are studying in the Netherlands. Haileybury also has many Old Haileyburians studying at US universities and at universities across Asia.

As an institution, Haileybury has an international outlook and I encourage our students to consider the benefits of studying interstate and in other countries as well as at the great universities in Melbourne.
