Haileybury Rendall School Year 10 Students win Principal’s Exchange to Haileybury Melbourne.

It is a great pleasure to announce that Sam (Year 10) and Madison (Year 10) have won the Principal’s Exchange to Haileybury, Melbourne for Term 3 this year.

This means that Sam and Madison will move to Melbourne from Darwin for the term and attend all their classes down south. This exchange began last year when Stephanie (Year 11) joined the Keysborough campus and Felix (Year 11) joined the Brighton campus. At the same time, Anthony (Year 11) and Sebastian (Year 11) (both from the City campus) came up to HRS and studied here while living in our outstanding boarding facility. Both boys wanted to stay longer than a term!

Sam is an excellent swimmer and is looking forward to joining the winter swimming team in Melbourne and will be keen to get involved in other extra-curricular opportunities. He is studying Year 10 Maths, English, Science and Units 1 and 2 Modern History, Biology and Psychology. It is great to know that his counterparts in Haileybury, Melbourne study the same course content and operate with a similar timeline to our VCE programs in Darwin.

Madison is a keen netballer and is hoping to join a Haileybury team once she arrives. She enjoys all her studies and is completing VCE Units 1 and 2 Modern History and Physical Education along with her standard Year 10 Subjects.

Sam and Maddie are very excited about joining student life in Melbourne for Term 3 and are planning ways to combat the colder weather as best they can. Part of their exchange experience is to join a homestay family, so please contact Ms Cath McCraith (Head of Senior Boys) or Ms Anna Wassell (Head of Senior Girls) if you would like more information.

We look forward to continued opportunities between our Darwin and Melbourne campuses for staff and students who are part of our unique ‘One Haileybury’ brand.
