Two Winter Premierships

It has been a stunning end to the 2015 APS/AGSV Winter Season with Haileybury taking home the Girls Hockey and Boys Cross Country Premierships.

The Girls 1st Hockey Team defeated Caulfield Grammar in the last round of the APS/AGSV season, cementing their place on top of the ladder and claiming the APS/AGSV Girls Hockey Premiership for 2015. The team finished 1 point ahead of Carey Grammar, who had proved themselves to be the team to beat in the early rounds of the competition. The final match against Caulfield Grammar was always going to be a challenge, with two of Haileybury's finest away on representative duty at the School Sport Australia Under 16 tournament in Perth. In a display of pure determination and with some outstanding goal-keeping to back them up, the Hearts scored the only goal of the match early in the second half, defeating Caulfield 1-0.

The Boys Cross Country Team completed a stellar season, finishing undefeated!  After coming a close second for many years, 2015 proved to be the year for the boys to break the drought.  The scenic Yarra Valley provided the perfect backdrop for the boys to claim the APS Premiership.

Congratulations to all the students and staff involved in such a wonderful winter season of sport.
