Haileybury City is an exciting educational concept as Melbourne’s first vertical school.
Haileybury is one of the top private schools in Melbourne, with campuses in Keysborough, Brighton, Berwick, Melbourne CBD and Beijing (China).
Haileybury is acclaimed as a great world school, having been named Australian School of the Year at the 2018 Australian Education Awards, while CEO | Principal Mr Derek Scott was named Australian School Principal of the Year in 2019. This acclaim stems from our highly successful parallel education model, outstanding teachers, small class sizes and an unmatched level of individual attention.
A private school that began with 17 students in 1892 has now grown to a school of over 4,000, making it the largest school in the country, with outstanding academic results and a strong international focus.
Haileybury embodies the philosophy of every student matters every day and that every stage of schooling is equally important. Haileybury strives to develop resilient, independent learners in an environment that is memorable and a joy for each child to attend. We nurture and care about the safety of our students and reward both excellence in outcomes and in effort.
Our Parallel Education Model is an enlightened method of learning and teaching that recognises the diverse educational needs of boys and girls. Early Learning Centre and Junior School classes are co-instructional whilst Middle School and Pre-Senior classes are separate for girls and boys. Senior School classes are also separate for boys and girls except for where co-instructional learning is advantageous.
It’s not just Haileybury’s programs, teachers and facilities that draw praise – more importantly, it’s our students.
The School’s academic results consistently rank us amongst the top private schools in Melbourne and the country. Following the outstanding NAPLAN results in 2018, which saw Haileybury ranked as the number one independent private primary school for girls and boys in Australia, the School’s 2018 NAPLAN results recorded the best outcomes in the ten-year history of the program. Exceptional results were also achieved in the 2019 VCE Results, which saw 58% of all students ranked in the top 10% of the country with an ATAR of 90 or above.
The Years 5 and 8 students are building on their science knowledge using direct lessons with a creative flair.
Edrington's ELC and Junior School students have been developing their artistic drawing skills and taking inspiration from the world around them.
Haileybury's vision and programs have been recognised with seven nominations in the 2020 Australian Education Awards.
For the first time, we conducted parent-teacher interviews online. This Teachers of the Future community contribution webinar reflects on whether this was a success, what worked well and what we can learn to make this partnership work even better in the future.
School Tours will be conducted on Saturday, 1 August 2020 between 9.00 am and 12.00 pm.
