China Campus Tour
The facilities at Haileybury’s China campus include teaching classrooms, a library, lecture theatre, science laboratories, music rooms, art studios, gymnasium, tennis and basketball courts, ovals, canteen, clinic, dormitories, and outdoor and courtyard areas. The School can accommodate 1,200 students.
1. Central Administration
The Central Administration building is the focal point of Haileybury International School Tianjin, and provides the campus with a grand entrance. Inspired by traditional western architecture, this building is the hub of the School and houses classrooms, staffroom, the Security Control Centre, IT Centre and administration offices.
2. Junior and Senior Classrooms
The Junior (Years 7 to 9) and Senior (Years 10 to 12) Classrooms provide students with a light-filled and engaging environment in which to learn. These 42 classrooms, include ten science labs, multi-purpose rooms, library, computer labs, music performance and practice rooms, arts rooms and two dance studios. Modelled on the traditional Haileybury classrooms, this wing provides students with state-of-the-art facilities, all with the latest integrated classroom technology. The Senior Classrooms are divided between the international VCE program and the Chinese Gaokao Program.
3. Primary Classrooms
The Primary School (Years 1 to 6) includes six purpose built classroom environments. Each classroom features the distinct Haileybury Australia design elements as well state-of-the-art technology. Multi-purpose areas are also used for informal learning activities. Primary school students also have access to their own purpose built library which houses both Chinese and Western literature as well multiple computer labs. The Primary School Classrooms all over look the central quadrangle which all students use during break times.
The Theatre provides students with a grand performance space. Whether it be for dramatic production, lectures or weekly assemblies, the theatre is a hub of activity. The Theatre can hold 600 people with raked seating and includes multiple dressing rooms and a green room.
The Oval is place for students to participate in a number of different physical education activities. The area features a soccer pitch, athletics track, tennis, badminton and basketball courts.
6. Sports Centre
To accompany the large outdoor sports facilities, the Sports Centre is home to the a 25-metre swimming pool, indoor gymnasium, weights room, ping pong rooms and change room facilities.
Dormitories provide students with a home away from home. Almost all students board at the School. The School has a total of four dormitory buildings, two for the girls and two for the boys. A total of three students share a room which includes, sleeping and study facilities as well as an ensuite. Each dormitory building is supervised by a staff member and has strict security to ensure the students are safe at all times. Lounge areas and large study areas are also available in each building so students can socialise during their free time.
Two canteens are available to the students and staff. The Junior Canteen provides the younger students with traditional Chinese foods, whilst the Senior Canteen has more international options. Students are provided with three meals a day and are all prepared onsite.
