Embracing learning experiences

For all members of the Haileybury Pangea community, our first term has been a rich learning experience. For teachers, learning is something that is inherently part of our practice, and it is especially valuable in a context that embraces enterprise and innovation.

In 2023, we have continued our engagement with internationally renowned blended learning expert Heather Staker. She has partnered with us to deliver professional development modules for teachers, learning designers and Heads of Department.

Heather brings her experience across a wide variety of school contexts and learning models to provoke our thinking about how we can deliver educational excellence for self-motivated, academically driven students who thrive in a more flexible model of learning. We look forward to continuing our learning with Heather in Term 2.

Student achievements

A highlight of daily life at Haileybury Pangea is hearing the incredibly diverse and interesting stories of our students as they pursue their passions and personal goals while balancing their academic studies.

Throughout Term 1, Milo Botterill (Year 9) has been in California pursuing his snowboarding career. He has successfully juggled time zones, training and school-work throughout the term.

We are thrilled to share that Milo recently won the United States of America Snowboard and Freeski Association National Championships for Snowboarding in Slopestyle in the 14 years and under category. We congratulate Milo on this momentous achievement and look forward to hearing more stories of his time in California!
