SOAR Family Agreement Session

On Thursday 26 February, Haileybury Pangea families came together online for our interactive Safe Online Actions & Relationships (SOAR) Family Agreement Session. This engaging event provided parents, carers and students with the opportunity to explore practical strategies for navigating digital spaces safely and responsibly as an increasingly important part of every young person’s learning journey.
Throughout the session, families were guided through conversations about online behaviours, digital wellbeing and how to establish positive habits at home. Together, participants unpacked real‑life scenarios that young people commonly encounter online, discussing ways to respond confidently and thoughtfully. The interactive format encouraged open dialogue between students and their families, with many sharing personal insights, challenges and ideas for strengthening communication about online experiences.
A key component of the evening was the development of a SOAR Family Agreement. This is a tailored plan that outlines shared expectations, respectful boundaries and effective approaches to managing technology use. Families left the session with a personalised agreement designed to support ongoing conversations, promote balanced screen habits and reinforce safe, kind and ethical online interactions.
Thank you to all families who attended and contributed so wholeheartedly. Your willingness to engage in these important discussions helps build a strong partnership between home and school and ensures our young people feel supported as they navigate the digital world.
We look forward to continuing these conversations throughout the year and providing further opportunities to empower students and families to flourish, both online and offline.
