Inspiration from Old Haileyburians

During our online learning period, we had some very special guests ‘zoom’ into assemblies to check in with the students.

Khanh Ong (OH 2009) a current contestant on television hit show MasterChef, joined the Years 5 and 6 boys during Languages Week. Khanh provided the boys with some excellent advice. He encouraged them to be proud of their heritage and to learn more about each other’s culture.

Khanh also described how he dealt with performing under pressure—which was to just focus on doing his best and not worry about what others are doing.

Earlier in Term 2, Max King (OH 2018) a current St Kilda Football Club player, joined the Middle School Boys’ Zoom Assembly. Max spoke about his time at the school, his love of Haileybury Sport and dealing with adversity. He encouraged students to stay active and to look after each other.

Another highlight of the online assemblies was seeing the students showcase their creative talents, ranging from trick shots, time-lapsed artwork, physical isolation videos and musical performances.

Well done to all Haileybury students on their great contributions and support of the virtual assemblies. We are so glad to have you back on campus!
