CEO | Principal's Report

One of the most pressing and significant challenges facing students and their families is how to navigate the digital world safely and responsibly. In support of families, the Federal Government is implementing age restrictions on social media platforms for people aged under 16 years. Haileybury fully supports this action which comes into effect on 10 December 2025.

To support this initiative, Haileybury is launching Safe Online Actions and Relationships (SOAR), a wellbeing program consisting of a holistic Cyber Safety and Wellbeing Toolkit for our families, with 24-hour access to expert videos, advice and curated resources. Informed by the latest research and developed with input from psychologists, academics and educators, the toolkit is designed to help our students lead safe, respectful and responsible lives online.

To see first-hand how we are working together as a community to help and empower families to navigate the online world safely, please join us for the online launch of SOAR on Tuesday, 25 November 2025, at 5.00 pm. A registration link is provided below for this online event.

Haileybury is purposefully releasing this toolkit to coincide with the Australian Government’s new age restrictions on social media platforms. We will continue to enhance the offerings available within the toolkit, including the introduction of online cyber safety modules that parents can complete.

The School will continue to develop the Managed Device Program to help students use technology responsibly.

As a school we are committed to partnering with families to promote the digital wellbeing of young people in our care, and in assisting our families to feel confident, safe and empowered in an increasingly digital world.

I look forward to seeing you online at our launch on Tuesday, 25 November 2025, at 5.00 pm.
