Campus News
Welcome to Country
Our campus recently took part in a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony led by Bunurong Elders Uncle Mark and Uncle James. Through the Welcome to Country, students were introduced to the importance of acknowledging and respecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and histories. The Smoking Ceremony offered a powerful cultural experience, with the Elders explaining how the smoke is traditionally used for cleansing, healing and creating a sense of connection and belonging.

Staff Appreciation Morning Tea
A heartfelt thank you to all the families who contributed to the delicious appreciation morning tea for our staff. Our teachers and support staff work incredibly hard every day, and they were genuinely touched by the kindness and thoughtfulness shown by our parent community. Thank you for your generosity and support.

Edrington Concert
The annual Edrington Concert is a highlight of our music calendar when Middle School and VCE students have the opportunity to showcase their considerable talents. The concert will be held on Thursday, 25 June at 7.00 pm in John Twist Hall. Please secure your tickets via this link.
Early Learning Centre
Our ELC children recently had the privilege of participating in a whole school Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony led by Bunurong Elders Uncle Mark and Uncle James. This meaningful experience provided a valuable opportunity for children, and staff to connect with the rich cultural heritage of the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we learn and play.
Engaging in authentic cultural experiences from an early age helps children develop respect, understanding and appreciation for First Nations cultures. It supports their sense of identity and belonging while fostering curiosity, empathy and inclusiveness. These experiences also contribute to children’s understanding of Australia’s shared history and encourage meaningful conversations about culture, community and caring for country.
We extend our sincere gratitude to Uncle Mark and Uncle James for generously sharing their knowledge, stories and traditions with our learning community. Their guidance helped create a memorable and enriching experience that will continue to inspire our children as they grow as respectful and informed members of our community.
Junior School
Strings Concert
Our Strings musicians played beautifully at our Strings Concert on Wednesday, 27 May, entertaining us with the Little Red Riding Hood, Not Quite story. Such a committed group of young people with all their practice paying off in a wonderful performance. We are very proud of them.
Middle School
The past few weeks have been filled with wonderful opportunities for our students to connect, contribute and explore.
Bounce community event
The Bounce community event was a standout, with students embracing the energy and excitement of the evening. It was fantastic to see such a strong sense of positivity, joy and connection outside of the normal classroom setting. Opportunities like this play an important role in building relationships and strengthening our sense of community. It was a truly fun night, and a great time was had by all.
Red Shield Appeal
Our Year 7 students demonstrated their commitment to service through their involvement in collecting money for the Red Shield Appeal. Their willingness to give back to the community was impressive, and they represented the School with pride and maturity. Engaging with members of the public and supporting an important community initiative allows them to develop confidence, empathy and a deeper understanding of the impact of collective effort. It was particularly pleasing to witness the way students conducted themselves with such respect and enthusiasm, embodying the values of our School while contributing meaningfully to a broader cause.
Curious Minds Expo
The Curious Minds Expo was another highlight, offering students valuable exposure to the world of STEM. Engaging presenters (many of whom are Middle School parents) shared fascinating insights into their careers and journeys, sparking curiosity and inspiring future pathways. Students further extended their learning through a range of interactive workshops, which encouraged hands-on participation and deeper thinking.
A sincere thank you to Nicole Turner for her outstanding organisation of this event. Her efforts ensured a rich and meaningful experience for all involved.

Haileybury Parents & Friends Edrington (HPFE)
A huge thank you to our amazing community for your delicious contributions to the Staff Appreciation Morning Tea. The staff were so grateful for your contributions; it is definitely a highlight for them all. Our Cross-Country sausage sizzle was once again a massive hit. Thanks again to all our volunteers, especially Roger Colla, our BBQ King who is always the first to don an apron.
It was also wonderful to see so many Edrington parents at the Haileybury Ball. It was such a fabulous night; my feet are still recovering from all the dancing.
Coming up in Term 3 we have our Father’s Day stall. If you are free to come and assist, please register your interest here.
