Learning Outside the Box!
It is wonderful to see so many ELC children attending school. Having the opportunity to reunite with their friends and educators is such an important part of early childhood.
Terms 2 and 3 have seen different procedures put in place at drop-off and pick-up time, increased cleaning and heightened focus on hygiene but it is important for everyone to remember that all these measures are put in place to help ensure the health and safety of everyone in our School community.
While the ELC children are unable to venture out on regular excursions, Haileybury educators have been exploring new learning opportunities via online platforms with them.
Haileybury City’s first online tour was to the National Gallery of Victoria, where we explored many amazing artworks, which stimulated much conversation between children about their visual preferences.
Following the success of this adventure, the ELC embarked on a tour of Uluru to hear of sacred sites and stories from The Dreaming.
The combination of hands-on experiences and virtual learning facilitates opportunities for the children to broaden their understandings and perspectives.
These digital resources have been seamlessly incorporated into the centres’ programs. We look forward to further travelling the world in search of opportunities to extend the children’s interests among myriad activities with expert presenters.
